I love the magical glow of light boxes made from intricate paper layers placed in a shadow box or deep frame. I made a Harry Potter inspired version with 140 lb watercolor paper. I cut each layer out with my silhouette cameo, and added the small details with an exacto knife. Each layer is separated by 1/4″ wide strips cut from foam core board. Vellum was placed behind the detail cutouts. To create the water, I colored clear vellum with blue alcohol markers. I placed LED strip light on the back panel to illuminate it. All layers were placed in an 8×10 shadowbox.
